Learn about & help the program that feeds Jackson's school children & pick up a great read on January 31

On Tuesday, January 31, Jackson Coffee Company, 201 S. Mechanic Street in Jackson, is hosting my Special Book Signing Event to benefit the Jackson Public Schools Food Services Program.

The Last Angel To Fall is hailed as “A powerhouse first volume in a supernatural-thriller series” by Kirkus Reviews. Set mostly in and around Jackson, the first book in the series follows Federal Agent Jubal Stone as he uncovers a multi-layered conspiracy involving the State Department and descending to the depths of Hell and reaching up to the heights of Heaven. You'll never look at things the same way again.

So, come and join us on the 31st to learn about the earth-shattering events happening in the shadows of Jackson, pick up a cup of Jackson's finest coffee and help the program feeding Jackson's school children at the same time.

50% of all book purchases will benefit the Jackson Public Schools Food Services Program. If you're not familiar with JPS Food Services, it's about much more than providing meals to all of Jackson's public schools.

With two chefs who create great tasting, healthier meals to our schools, they strive to not only offer well-balanced meals but to engage and educate students on what they eat. Director Brant Russell, who worked as an executive chef in hotels and country clubs for many years, makes sure that nutrition is stressed along with taste. His staff keeps students engaged by offering taste tests to students in the cafeteria and classroom as well.

The Harvest of the Month highlights a different fruit, vegetable and herb every month, with plums, yellow onions and ginger root being the January 2023 stars of this program. Brant Russell's team exposes students to new, healthy eating choices in ways students might not have experienced previously. The Food4Life campaign promotes food that children can eat for a lifetime of healthy nutrition. (Information provided by JPS Program Director Brant Russell.)
