You Were Always There

You protected me whenever I was vulnerable

Defended me when I was attacked

You made me believe in myself when others rejected me

You were always there


In my most desperate moments of despair

Of pain so deep and hurtful I wished that I was dead

You were sympathetic, worried and watchful

You were always there


You made me see options where I saw nothing at all

Helped me laugh when I all I could do was cry

Those times when I was heartbroken

You never let me feel unloved, when I just wanted to die


Whenever I felt alone and worthless,

You were always there


Whenever I think of something happy

You were always there


Whenever I think of something I am proud of

You were always there


Whenever I think of the future

You were always there


But I am all alone now, dear brother

And I just can’t bear to let you go


I've got to go where you have gone

To tell you just how much I love you


I know this hurt will never stop

It's a life I don't care to live


My heart's become an empty, crumbled shell

Because you were always there

A controversial novel

I offer a warning about A Cold Day In Hell , the second novel in the “Jubal Stone Series.” The subject matter of this series is controversial. In reading this book and the first in the series, The Last Angel To Fall , it's important that the reader approach them with an open mind. These are works of fiction that explore the fact that there are two sides to every story, including the story of “God versus the Devil,” which The Old Testament and New Testament has enjoyed almost universal acceptance among Christianity despite the fact that it offers a one-sided point-of-view of the story. To those who condemn this idea I would reply that anything legitimate can withstand criticism. It's also an accepted axiom that “the winner of the war writes the history,” but for some reason this objective reasoning has not been extended to the struggle between God and the Devil.
